Top Baby Registries & Why We Recommend Them

Best Worldwide Baby Registry – Amazon Baby Registry

  • Why we love it: Amazon's Baby Registry is super convenient and easy to create and use. If you have family members in different parts of the country/world, this is the perfect baby registry for you. With the click of a button, family and friends can purchase gifts for babies which will arrive at your front door like magic.
  • Free welcome gift? YES. The baby registry welcome box from Amazon is a great starter kit for parents-to-be. You must be an Amazon Prime member, create an Amazon baby registry, add at least 10 items from the baby registry checklist, and have a minimum of $10 of purchases from your registry. (These purchases can be by you or someone else, so if you're itching to receive your free box, go ahead and make the first purchase from your registry and qualify to receive your box!)

Things To Know About Amazon's Baby Registry

Amazon is known for having endless options and being a place where you can find almost anything. If you're creating an Amazon baby registry, the website supplies you with a helpful checklist and lots of product ideas. The downside of this registry is that you have to complete a certain amount of items on the checklist to receive a free welcome box, even if there are things that you don't feel you need. However, you can always go back and edit or change your choices.

Because Amazon also may sell out of products or change prices at any time, be on the lookout for updating parts of your registry that change or are no longer available. Amazon provides a 15% completion discount on qualifying items purchased within a certain timeframe.

Best Budget Baby Registry – Walmart Baby Registry

  • Why we love it: Walmart has some of the most competitive prices for families and shoppers. You can find many different brands here, as well as clothing, nursery items, and essentials.
  • Free welcome gift? YES. Walmart's baby registry has an option to sign up for a free Baby Registry Welcome Box. Once you've created a registry, you can then sign up to receive a free gift box. These do sell out, so make sure to sign up as soon as your registry is created.

Things To Know About Walmart's Baby Registry

Walmart is truly your go-to-baby-registry if you're on a budget. If you want to avoid the over-priced aspects and work on deinfluencing your baby registry, this is the one for you! Walmart has a price match policy that can also help ensure you're getting the best price whether you are shopping online or in a store. (Restrictions apply.)

Things To Know About Target's Baby Registry

Target's registry really does make it easy for parents. This baby registry allows you to return items from your registry for up to 365 days. Friends and family can shop at one of Target's 1,900 stores or choose to shop online. With popular brands like Carter's and The Honest Company, Target has a plethora of items to choose from, including car seats, baby bath essentials, diapers, clothes, toys, and more.

Best Baby Registry for Affordable Nursery Items – IKEA

  • Why we love it: IKEA's registry allows you to harness your creative juices and really create your dream nursery without breaking the bank.
  • Free welcome gift? NO.

Things To Know About IKEA's Gift Registry

When signing up, IKEA has a "Gift Registry" page, not a specific baby registry. Once you sign up, you tailor your gift registry to add the baby items that you wish. IKEA is such a fun store to visit, you may want to consider setting up your registry in person. The store displays offer great visions of what a baby's room could look like with different furniture. Since IKEA primarily has home and furniture items, you'll most likely want to pair this registry with another to make sure your essentials (diapers, wipes, clothes, etc.) are also covered. Having two baby registries can be beneficial and give your friends and family more options when selecting thoughtful gifts for baby.

Best Organic Baby Registry – Crate & Kids' Baby Registry

  • Why we love it: The quality and style of Crate & Barrel's baby and kids' section is top-notch. The color palettes and fabrics are gorgeous. If you're looking for 100% cotton options and high quality, then this is your registry option.
  • Free welcome gift? NO.

Things To Know About Crate & Kids' Baby Registry

They have a new Aire Collection that includes 100% organic crib quilts. Crate & Kids also has furniture options for your baby registry, including some GREENGUARD Gold Certified products, which have been screened for more than 10,000 chemicals and pollutants. The Crate & Kids registry is definitely one to look into for organic and eco-friendly products.

Best Online Baby Registry – buybuy Baby Baby Registry

  • Why we love it: buybuy Baby has all the gear. Cribs, car seats, swings, you name it. This is a great registry to shop from for larger items that you don't want to haul around a store on a cart. Simply, have these shipped to your door and receive free shipping on purchases over $49.
  • Free welcome gift? NO.

Things To Know About buybuy Baby's Registry

If you're thinking that buybuy Baby recently closed, you're not wrong! In 2023, the company closed 115 stores. Later, in the fall of 2023, 11 stores reopened. If there's no store near you, the online registry system is pretty simple to use when purchasing and adding gift items.

Best User-Friendly Baby Registry – MyRegistry.com Baby Registry

  • Why we love it: MyRegistry.com is a universal baby registry site that allows you to choose items from multiple stores/sellers and put them all on your baby registry. Here, you also have the ability to combine multiple registries and stay organized.

  • Why we love it: Babylist's baby registry has all of the bells and whistles (and rattles!), but we especially love it for its generous freebies.
