Things To Do In Central Massachusetts

Letz Rage - Fitchburg

Rage and paint-splatter rooms are an exhilarating way to spend some quality time with friends and family! The state of the art smash rooms and paint-rage rooms are open to all ages! In the smash room, the whole family can unleash and destroy everything in sight including plates, glasses, and other fragile items. The paint-rage room allows everyone to let their creative juices flow all over the canvas, the walls, and even yourself.  

Wachusett Mountain - Westminster

Are you into picturesque landscapes, skiing, hiking, and stunning panoramic views? Then Wachusett Mountain is for you! This is the ideal destination to enjoy a day on the slopes, followed by a warm donut by the fire. A hike to Balance Rock is perfect for the warmer months. Make sure to check out the year-round event calendar that features Kidsfest, Applefest, and Summerfest. 

Canal District - Worcester

The Canal District is Worcester’s most actively developing area. This walkable neighborhood is filled with small businesses with shopping and dining options. Pro tip: make sure to check out the walking map and the By The Canal Tour to learn about the history of this region. 

Old Sturbridge Village - Sturbridge

Time-travel back to the 1790s and learn about life in rural New England. This living museum has more than 40 original buildings. At Old Sturbridge Village, guests can see live demonstrations and find inspiration through exploring history. 

New England Botanic Garden - Boylston

The Garden features 18 distinct gardens, preserved woodlands, miles of walking trails, conservatories, a cafe, and a Garden shop. Make sure to check out their calendar for events! You’ll want to visit The Orangerie, an 18th-century-style greenhouse. And there's The Limonaia, which features winter blooming, temperate and subtropical plants from October through May. 

Urban Air - Bellingham 

Urban Air is much more than the average trampoline park. It is the ultimate indoor adventure park, where kids and adults of all ages can explore thrilling attractions and complex obstacles—and have fun while doing it. After the trampolines, you can hit the "battle beam" with foam pit and tackle the obstacles on the ropes course. Then explore the tubes playground and push yourself on the warrior course. Note that certain activities have height restrictions; smaller children won’t be able to participate in all of the options. But they’re sure to have a good time in the special kids area for little ones age 7 and under.

Hopkinton Center for the Arts - Hopkinton

Classes include fine art, dance, music, theater, filmmaking, photography, acting and ceramics. Over 2,000 students enjoy this visual and performing arts center each year. Make sure to check out their weekend workshops!

Where to Eat in Central Massachusetts 

Lookout Farm Taproom -Natick 

Lookout Farm is one of the oldest continuously working farms in the United States. The farm provides both agricultural education and outdoor entertainment for guests. Visitors can enjoy small bites and BBQ platters paired with a craft beer or cider with family and friends.

Jack Abby Beer Hall & Kitchen - Framingham

The smell of wood fired pizza fills this beer hall Tuesday - Sunday. The menu also features share-ables like a giant pretzel, meatballs, and wings. There's also mac n' cheese, chicken parm, and a cookie skillet for dessert. The menu does rotate slightly with the seasons; make sure to check out what’s cooking before you head over.

Wachusett Brewing - Worcester & Westminster 

This is a lovely spot to grab a bite any time of year. The Westminster location features an outdoor beer garden with a full menu, fire pits, and live music. The menu is stocked with kid faves like chicken fingers, french fries, and pretzels. 

Worcester Public Market - Worcester 

The Worcester Public Market offers a variety of diverse culinary offerings, showcasing local flavors and international cuisines. Visitors can sample artisanal goods and fresh produce while enjoying the spirit of this bustling marketplace.
