Glamping sites and campgrounds with cabins on Long Island offer wonderful opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors. From the beaches that line our shores, to our rivers, wetlands, and forests, there is an abundance of nature to become one with on Long Island–and you don't need a sleeping bag or tent to do it.

Here is our list of the top glamping campgrounds on Long Island. Some locations have cabin rentals, while others offer RV and camper hookups.

Where To Go Glamping in Nassau County

1. Battle Row Campground - Old Bethpage

Bring your RV or camper to Battle Row Campground. This campsite offers both electric and water hookups. If your family prefers the woods, this is a great destination. There are public restrooms with showers for your convenience if you don't have one in the camper. 

2. The Willow at Nickerson Beach - Lido Beach

No RV? No problem. In addition to the 74 RV hook-up sites at Nickerson Beach Campground, there is a completely renovated, 31-foot, 1974 Airstream Sovereign. It sleeps up to four people and has a kitchen, bathroom, and a super chic treehouse-style interior. All you need to bring are beach towels, clothes, and food. There is a 3-night booking minimum on holiday weekends and a 2-night minimum at all other times. Amenities include the beach, pools, tennis and racquetball courts, playgrounds, and restaurants. There is also a fully updated tiny home for rent.

3. Eastern Long Island Kampground - Greenport

If your family is looking for a new way to experience the wonders of Long Island's North Fork, Eastern Long Island Kampground might be for you. Relax in a serene yurt, which is a mix between a cabin and a tent. Listen to the sounds of nature and breathe in the fresh air, without sleeping in a bag on the cold ground. The campsite also offers rental RVs and safari tents, which have modern amenities like WiFi. Cabins are currently under construction and will be available for rent in the future. Campground amenities include a rec room with a pool table, foosball, air hockey, and video games, as well as an archery range.

4. Heckscher State Park - East Islip

Enjoy waterfront cottages at Heckscher State Park on the south shore of Long Island. Cottages can accommodate anywhere from two to six guests, depending on the cottage. Each cottage is equipped with a kitchen, a bathroom, and a living room. The number of bedrooms depends on the cottage. While at the park, enjoy a refreshing dip into the Great South Bay. Walk the various hiking trails. Bring your binoculars to spot various birds and whitetail deer.

5. Montauk County Park - Montauk

Self-contained units, like RVs and camper trailers, can camp on the beachfront, though you must have a permit. Swim in the ocean, go fishing or kayaking, and even take a horseback ride thanks to the nearby Deep Hollow Ranch.

6. Wildwood State Park - Wading River

While the cottages aren't beachfront, they are positioned nicely among the trees, and just a short walk to the beach. Cottages can accommodate between two and six guests. Modern amenities such as running water and electricity await. Activities at this campsite include fishing, swimming in the Long Island Sound, a playground, hiking trails, and birding.
