Looking for free turkeys in Los Angeles for Thanksgiving dinner? We found local organizations that are here to help.

While some are fortunate enough to fill their table with an indulgent dinner spread, many families in the Los Angeles area are struggling to make ends meet. With the ever-increasing cost of living in Los Angeles, families living paycheck-to-paycheck may not be able to afford the costs of an elaborate Thanksgiving dinner. With that in mind, we've compiled a list of organizations in Los Angeles that are easing the burden for families during the holidays by giving away FREE turkeys and Thanksgiving meals.

Where To Find Free Turkeys in Los Angeles for Thanksgiving

1. 2hunned Presents Carson Community Day: Turkey Giveaway — Carson

November 11, 2023 from 1pm - 4pm
Carson has not one, but two separate turkey giveaways in 2023. The community organization 2hunned is putting on this one, in its second year. It will be held at at Dolphin Park in the City of Carson.

2. Azalea Regional Shopping Center Giveaway — South Gate

November 13, 2023, from 5pm - 6pm
As a thank you from the sprawling shopping center in South Gate, Azalea Regional Shopping Center is giving away vouchers for a free turkey. The giveaway is held at the shopping center on Monday, November 13.

3. La Alameda Thankful For You Turkey Giveaway — Walnut Park

November 14, 2023 from 5pm - 6pm
On November 14, head to Plaza La Alameda for this annual turkey giveaway, where every attendee receives a voucher for a free turkey.

4. Never Stop Grinding Impact Turkey Giveaway — Rialto

November 15, 2023 from 10am - 2pm
Taking place at the Rialto Certified Farmers Market, this is the 4th annual giveaway. Registration is not required as this is a walk-up event. However, tickets are required in order to receive a free turkey. In addition to a free turkey, registrants can apply for a free smartphone on the T-Mobile network.

5. Victor Valley Rescue Mission's The Great Thanksgiving Event — Victorville

November 18, 2023, from 11am - 2pm
Residents of the High Desert can register for The Great Thanksgiving Turkey Basket Drive-Thru Giveaway on November 18 from 11am to 2pm at the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds. Pre-qualified families of two or more can register to attend this contactless private event. There are four additional banquets at High Desert: Mountain View Baptist Church, Hesperia/Journey Foursquare Church, Adelanto/Victor Valley Christian Church and Hesperia and Redeemer Church, Apple Valley.

6. Lighthouse of Hope Foundation Inc. — Riverside

November 18, 2023, from 10am - 12pm
For families in the Inland Empire, the Lighthouse of Hope Foundation Inc. is giving out over 100 turkeys along with food boxes, clothing, and music on November 18 from 10am to 12pm. The organization will also hold a free community Thanksgiving dinner on the same afternoon of November 18 at 3pm.

7. City of Carson Turkey Giveaway — Carson

November 18, 2023 at 1pm
The City of Carson will be giving away turkeys or gift cards to the first 500 residents on November 18 at the SouthBay Pavilion, located adjacent to Target. This is the city's 15th annual turkey giveaway.

8. Church of Scientology Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway — Hollywood

November 19, 2023 from 11am - 2pm
Head to Hollywood for a giveaway from the Church of Scientology. In addition to providing a free turkey per family on a first-come, first-serve basis, they will be providing hot chocolate and apple cider, and free professional family photos.

9. The SIX's 2nd Annual Thanksgiving Food Giveaway — Long Beach

November 19, 2023 at 12pm
Put on by local group The SIX and 40 other organizations, this giveaway takes place at Martin Luther King Jr. Park. Unlike other giveaways, this is more than just turkey. According to the event page, "recipients will shop our partner pavillion filled with over 40 grocery stops including turkey, sides, desserts, and drinks" free of charge.

10. City of Inglewood Turkey Giveaway — Inglewood

November 21, 2023 from 9am - 12pm
The City of Inglewood distributes free turkeys in advance of Thanksgiving. The event serves 2,500 Inglewood residents, providing turkeys donated by Don Lee Farms, a bag of sides and additional items from Pepsi, Frito-Lay, and Snoop Dogg. This is a drive-thru event. No walk-ups are allowed. Advance registration is required.

11. Senator Bradford's 2022 Drive Thru Boxed Food & Turkey Giveaway — Torrance

November 21, 2023 from 10am - 12pm
Senator Steven Bradford is partnering with the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints, U.S. VETS Inglewood and El Camino College Foundation for a turkey and boxed food giveaway for members of the 35th district. While supplies last, each car will receive a turkey or pork roast. The line starts forming at 9am and is located at the El Camino College Campus Parking Lot F. RSVP here.

12. Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation — Central LA

Details TBA for 2023
For the last 16 years, the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation has hosted an annual turkey giveaway at Dodger Stadium in Elysian Park. Details have yet to be announced for this year, check back here or contact the organization for updates. (The event usually takes place the Friday before Thanksgiving!)
