Looking for the best things to do in Miami and South Florida this weekend? Here are some family-friendly events and activities to add to your weekend list!

About six weeks remain in the school year and summer fun is already on the minds of kids in the Miami and South Florida areas. Get ready for summer this weekend at The Berry Farm Watermelon Festival in Miami; a "Ride and Play" train ride from Dania Beach to Miami; and the Museum of Discovery and Science's ladybug release project in Fort Lauderdale.

For kids (and parents) who can't abandon the school year just yet, there are learning opportunities available at DNA Day at Frost Museum of Science, Family Day at The Bass art museum, and Jurassic Garden in Coral Gables. Either way, there are great family-friendly activities in Miami and South Florida this weekend. Read on for some of our favorites.
