Exploring Chelsea Piers Field House Brooklyn

My partner and I took our kids to the Chelsea Piers Field House Brooklyn grand opening to explore the space. When we walked in, we were a little perplexed, because it was just a shallow lobby, a front desk, and a stairway. Knowing how vast the original Chelsea Piers is, where could everything be? Well, we descended the staircase, turned the corner, and…activities overload! Kid-mode activated

The Chelsea Piers Field House's lower level is where all the action happens. It has a huge gymnastics and parkour center, two huge artificial turf fields, an arts and crafts area, and a perfect warm water instructional swimming pool just for kids; it's only 4-feet deep all around. You can spend your entire visit in just one of these sections, and the kids will not only be smiling and satisfied but also sufficiently sweaty.

Kids can test their physical skills and learn new ones from the well-trained, friendly staff at Chelsea Piers Field House Brooklyn.

In the gymnastics and parkour center, kids can do anything from flipping off a rope swing into a foam pit one minute to catching air on one of Chelsea Piers' in-ground trampolines the next. It also has plenty of knowledgeable, engaging staff members who offer support and keep little ones safe as they play. Parents can hang out in the mezzanine overlooking the entire center to keep an eye on the action while taking a much-needed breather.

The two artificial turf fields are multi-sport meccas where the kids can kick the soccer ball around, hit off the tee, toss some corn-hole, sink a 3, and basically practice any other sport you can imagine. Another perk: No equipment is needed; the Chelsea Piers Field House Brooklyn has it all!

The Holy Grail of any gym for my kiddos is the pool. The 1,400 square-foot pool at the Chelsea Piers Field House Brooklyn doesn’t disappoint. This brand-new beautiful blue beauty is not only a great place to splash around but a perfect size to feel safe while taking some lessons. There is a large, comfortable pool changing room adjacent to the pool.

Classes and Camps at Chelsea Piers Field House Brooklyn

Like its counterpart in Manhattan, Chelsea Piers Field House Brooklyn offers a variety of classes, camps, and birthday parties in its spacious facility. You can view all of its offerings from summer and school break camps to multi-sport classes on its website.

Most programming is open to the community, but membership here has its perks. And, at $50/month for a family of up to six (two adults and four children), it's considerably reasonable. Members get early registration access, a 10% discount on all programs, and exclusive access to open swim sessions.

Adult members can take advantage of cardio and strength-training studios, plus four group fitness classrooms that offer more than 100 fitness classes per week. A comfortable member lounge offers space for co-working, relaxing, or noshing on bites from the on-site cafe.
