NYC Parks are Filled with the Sounds of Free Kids Music and More

In addition to the free concerts and performances for kids in Madison Square Park, there is free programming at several other parks around Manhattan this summer. Union Square Park, Bryant Park and Washington Market Park all have free music and more to enjoy with the kids.

Union Square Park's Summer in the Square Festival has live music, dance, kids programming, yoga and more every Wednesday, all summer long. The Festival kicks off today at 12:30 with Rebecca Frezza and Big Truck, kid rockers you might have already seen on Noggin. The free kids concert is followed by OM yoga classes and the day ends with Honky Tonk Band, The Nashville Attitude. The Bryant Park Film Film Festival is pretty well known, but did you know that Bryant Park hosts events every day of the week in the summertime and most of it is very kid friendly? Monday night is films,then on Tuesday mornings there's Storytime readings followed by Classic Kids, performances of classical music by NYC kids. On Saturdays children enjoy their favorite books and activities inspired by them in the Word for Word series. And, though not strictly for kids, at Thursday's Broadway in Bryant Park children will enjoy watching the biggest hits from Broadways biggest shows. Check out the full schedule. Washington Market Park's 2007 Summer Family Concert Series is not to be missed. Every Thursday NYC's hottest kid rockers play before a gaggle of happy picnicking families.
